How to get to Rhodes

Rhodes is the hub of the Dodecanese. Its airport has some of the busiest summer schedules in Greece, and its harbour, under the walls of the Old Town, sends boats to every nearby island and across to Turkey.

When you land

Good to know on arrival

  • Hire a car for the south

Buses link Rhodes Town with Lindos and the east coast, but the mountain villages and the far south are easier by car.

  • Leave the car outside the walls

You can't drive into the Old Town. Park outside the walls and walk in.

  • Stay where you land

If your flight arrives late, spend the first night in Rhodes Town or Ialysos, near the airport and the port.

Times and frequencies are typical for the summer season and change every year. Check the current timetable before you book.
